Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Browsers also offer similar storage, called local storage and session storage, which a site can use to remember things on your device. This policy covers both.

Essential Cookies

These are required for the platform to work and cannot be switched off: the sign-in cookies that keep you signed in, a security token that protects forms from forgery, and a note of your cookie choice, kept in your browser's local storage. Signing in with Google also sets short-lived cookies that last only for the sign-in itself.

Analytics, With Your Consent

If you choose “Accept all”, we keep a random visit identifier in your browser's session storage for that tab, so the pages you open can be counted as one visit, and a note of the cars you have opened in that tab, so a car you return to is not counted twice. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. With “Essential only”, neither is kept.

We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising cookies. Nothing about your visit is shared with an analytics or advertising company.

What We Record Without Cookies

Whichever you choose, our own server notes each page you open: the page, the name of the site you arrived from, any campaign tag in the link you followed (for example, from our brochure), whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, and your approximate location — country and town — which our hosting provider works out from your connection. This record does not include your internet address. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account, along with when you sign in. It is kept for 24 months. Our Privacy Policy explains how it is used.

Remembered for Features You Use

The cars you have recently viewed are remembered in your browser's local storage, so we can show them back to you on your home page. They stay on your device.

Managing Cookies

You can change your choice here at any time. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings; clearing essential cookies will sign you out.
